At CARE Psychology, we acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 Nations in southern Alberta. This includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda Nations—comprising the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney First Nations. We also recognize that this land is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
We honour the enduring presence, resilience, and cultural knowledge of Indigenous Peoples in this region. As a mental health practice, we are committed to supporting Indigenous children, youth, adults, and families in a way that is grounded in respect, cultural humility, and a willingness to listen and learn. We recognize the impact of colonization and intergenerational trauma and strive to provide care that contributes to healing and reconciliation.
