CONSULTATION

You Are Holding A Lot, You Deserve Support Too

No child is alike and things that work with one child may not work with another. At CARE Psychology, we help parents, like you, who are interested in gaining new insights, interventions, or ideas to help your children move through their unique struggles. 

Consultation is available for you as a parent or caregiver who would benefit from support and recommendations on how to best help the child in your life. Consultation support may be done through in-person or virtual meetings.

Consultations are also available for educators and other professionals, alongside parents and caregivers, who require support and recommendations on how to best support the child they are working with (and we are working with). Please Note - Parental consent is always required before any consultations are made.

  • A collaborative, insight-driven session focused on helping you better understand and support the child or youth in your care. Whether you are navigating behavioural challenges, emotional distress, developmental concerns, or system-level stress (think school, home, transitions), these sessions are a space for clarity - Not critique.

    This is support designed specifically for parents and/or caregivers. It’s practical, professional guidance rooted in psychology, delivered with empathy and zero judgment.

  • Parents or caregivers feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to support their child, foster, or kinship. Caregivers managing complex relational or developmental dynamics. Parents or caregivers who would like help navigating the systems for their children (i.e., school).

    You don’t need a crisis to reach out. These sessions are for anyone who wants to better show up for the child in their life.

  • Yes. Some people come for a one-time consultation, others book follow-up sessions as things evolve. Some people want ongoing parent support.

  • Item descriptionNo, these sessions are for adults only. If therapy or assessment is recommended for your child, we will guide you through the next steps. Some sessions may include a parent consultation during the therapy process - Your therapist will support you with your child or youth.

  • We offer two options for parent consultation sessions:
    • $120 for a 25–30 minute session
    • $235 for a 50–60 minute session

    Parents can choose the session length that best fits their needs. Shorter sessions may be suitable for brief updates or check-ins, while longer sessions allow for more in-depth discussion or planning. If you're unsure which option is right for you, your psychologist can help guide this decision.
